Through these sorrows and trials you shall be blessed by fire. Know this you which are gentle and kind, you are most beloved and adored by the gods. It is for you that I shall crack open the earth and thrust forth upon the lands those that shall do our bidding. Hide in the shadow during this time and you shall be saved. Be foolish to challenge those that I have sent, and you shall be laid low upon the earth."

Meta is the divine god of fire and the guardian to the underworld. He is associated with the fires in the caverns of the earth and the sun that brings light to our world. He is the patron god of the spirit, warfare, and metalworkers.

It’s said he rests in the south, and so he is associated with this corner of the world. Those that seek his aid and inspiration will raise their voices and motion towards the southern skies of the land.

He is celebrated in the spring months during the Festival of Embers. This festival is in celebration of the warmth that returns to the land causing life to spring forth from the ground. During this celebration people give thanks by tossing dried flowers and offerings on to bonfires in hopes that he will take notice of their deed and protect them from the darkness of day.
