The
Colossus of Theios, divine god of the sea. Here he is pictured
with his beloved servant, Zephaleze.
"Hear me foolish mortal man. I shall call forth the waters
and all creatures, from fathoms deep, to rise forth and
ravish the lands. Let the tides heave upon thy shore in
violent force.
So that your minions shall never again bring despair upon
my people, I command the beasts of my domain to devour all
that are swept into the waters from Surcora. The eye of
man shall never again look upon the stones that conceal
the wretched.
From this day forward you shall be known as The Tyrant,
a man unworthy of death. So that people shall remember your
deeds, I give you the water of life. You shall be cursed
to live life anew upon each death bestowed upon you. As
my people have suffered, so shall you suffer for all eternity."
- As recorded by Ularis on the eve of the
destruction of Surcora, by the divine god of the sea Theios.

Theios
is the divine guardian of the sea as well as the patron
god of fishermen, merchants, and traveling.
He is associated with all bodies of water and the rain that
falls from the heavens. It's said he rests in the west,
and so he is associated with this corner of the world. Those
that speak his name in praise will generally raise their
voices and motion towards the western skies of the lands.
He is celebrated in the summer months during the Festival
of the Naiad. During this celebration the people of the
world give thanks, for the mystical aquatic nymphs sent
to the lands, by tossing gifts into the sea for Theios .
These nymphs, created by Theios, reside inside the sacred
water crystal trees which were created, and are protected
by Theios himself. During the summer months, the nymphs'
move about the lands blessing the flora with pristine waters,
giving the plants life and increasing their growth.
It's been said that Theios gave a decree to these nymphs
that certain parts of the lands were to be ignored, but
the reason for this decree is a mystery. Passion and longing
are associated with this god since many people wait for
their lovers to return at the shore of his domain, yet many
are lost at sea.
Theios is known for his wisdom and for his devotion to those
that worship him. His main temple is located in the Great
City. |
