Dark Solstice is a multi-player online RPG. The game is room based with 2.5D graphics. We opted against going 3D so that we could provide a fresh new look to our fantasy world. We hope you like it..

Dark Solstice is being developed by Black Masque Games. Our staff consists of software developers, artists, and world designers.

Dark Solstice is currently in Alpha.  Once we have a set date for commercial release we will make the information public via the website.

Alpha is limited to a handful of active community members that have been with us since the beginning.  These players are being selected from our message boards based on their activity within the Dark Solstice community.

We are no longer taking applicants for Alpha.  You may still sign up for Beta testing by following the Development link to the sign up page, located on the menu to the right.

Dark Solstice Subscription: - $7.95 per month / $80 per year It is our intent to provide the best entertainment value in the gaming world by providing twice the fun at half the price. Other pricing plans may be made available at a later time.

We are currently planning on 4 characters per account. Of course if you want more, there is always the option of another account.

We are not putting any restrictions on running more than one instance of the game. However, we are allowing only one instance per account. This would mean needing multiple accounts to play multiple characters all at once.

We will be running the game at a 1024x768 resolution. If that is the setting for your screen resolution, the game will be in a full screen format. If your settings are higher than 1024x768, the game may be run in a windowed mode. The screen is not scalable. If you choose to run two instances of the game, it would be necessary to click and bring one to the forefront.

Tough Question – DS will have as many servers as are needed to accommodate the user base. We do not know how many that will be yet. It would please us greatly to be in constant need of additional servers.

We’re not sure of the final number for Beta. As far as the full game, the number will be constantly increasing. We are trying to make each of the creatures unique and unlike others that may be around the gaming world. As you might guess, that takes a bit more time and effort.

There will be enough variation in Beta to keep it interesting. The final numbers are yet to be determined. A lot will depend on artwork and animations.
