On rare occasions in the land of Teramor, a full eclipse coincides with one of the Solstices. Many strange occurrences happen at this time. The sky of course grows dark, animals act strangely, and normal things are no longer normal.
It is unwise to remain outside unprotected. It is even more unwise to venture into the areas where the beasts from below are known to congregate. Strange beasts rise from the depths, spells no longer work as they did, and most weapons become ineffective. But, there is some hope.
Certain Magic users can use long forgotten conjures and secret incantations. Some ancient weapons will become deadly in the face of these powerful beasts. The danger will be high for those that venture out, but the rewards will be equally high for those that survive.
The more timid amongst you may be best off trying your hand at the Wheel of Fortune or the Dice table until the eclipse passes. The choice will be yours.
The Soltices of Teramor will occur on an irregular basis. Unlike real world events, the movements of the heavens in Teramor are caused by events not always linked to the calendar.
The struggle of the powerful forces of good and evil can cause both the eclipse and the Solstice to occur at any time. So in answer to your question, it would be best not to assume that a Dark Solstice can happen in a day, week, or month. Who knows?
Yes. More history can be uncovered by finding lost scrolls and books. You may even happen upon one of the gods strolling the lands.
Some aspects of the game can change based on actions, yes. However saying "/emote chops down a tree and destroys the Great City" wont work.

There will be areas in the game for you to congregate but those areas will not be for the exclusive use of the storyline followers. There will be temples and holy sites to visit.
